Child Dedication

According to the Old Testament writings, parents have a special mandate from God to teach their children the law of God (Deuteronomy 6:7-9, Proverbs 22:66).  From the Scriptures we see that children were often consecrated (set apart) or dedicated from a young age to belong to God.  This is the case for Samuel (1 Samuel 1:21-28) and Jesus (Luke 2:22-24).  According to the New Testament, parents are also given the same responsibility to teach their children about faith in Christ and how He expects them to live (Ephesians 6:1-4).  Therefore, at the Park Church we perform child dedication services.  During a Sunday morning service, parents will stand before their Church family and commit to raising their child to know and love God.  In turn, the church family will commit to praying for the parents and their child.  This is a special ceremony that speaks to who were are as a Church.
